Gaijin Card in Japan

Got my gaijin card at last the other day. Nice. Now I can get stopped by the police at 2am and not spend the night in the cells (assuming I wasn`t shooting up heroin or mugging an old lady of course).

Usual Japanese levels of paperwork and bureaucracy to get it, and we were told by Nova that you can`t cross out anything on the forms or use tipex etc, as the officials will get you to fill out another form…the lady that took my form off me, didn`t like some of my answers, so crossed them out and wrote all over it! Guess the reality isn`t always the same as the myth.

Oh, and if I stop being an alien (???) or die, then someone has to give it back to the Mayor. Wonder if he pins them up on a wall somewhere…
